Ranking as one of the top 10 fishing lakes in Minnesota, we have all the fish you could hope to catch and more! Throughout the 6,389 acres of Lake Osakis, with depths of up to 73 feet, you can find several varieties of walleye, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, black crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, yellow perch, rock bass, bullhead, whitefish, and tullibee.
In our particular corner of the lake, guests have experienced excellent catches. During the first half of the season, day fishing reels in many crappies, sunfish, walleye, and northern pike. That is just during the day, night fishing sees even bigger catches with numbers of 2 ½ pound bullheads. It gets better as the season goes on with more fish and bigger fish in September and October. The 11-mile lake has the space to produce some of the largest fish in the state and here on the narrow end where the Lakeshore Resort is located the lake is sheltered on three sides from the wind to make for pleasant and successful fishing. Any Lake Osakis fishing guide will tell you that when you leave our docks, you leave some of the best fishing available on the lake.
