Our five fishing docks, complete with nineteen chairs, benches and dock lights that remain on all night, are located just above the drop-off on the east side of our point. Cast into water depths of up to 30 feet deep on the steep drop-off which extends the entire length of our fishing docks.Excellent catches have been experienced by our dock fishing guests.
Dock catches include many crappie, sunfish, walleye and northern during the first half of the season. Night fishing has produced huge catches of bullheads – up to 2 1/2 pounds each.
September and October have been fabulous with large crappies, sunfish, walleye and northern in plentiful supply right off our docks. Ask any Lake Osakis fishing guide, and they’ll admit that when you get in your boat and leave our docks, you are leaving one of the best fishing holes on Lake Osakis.
Just 125 miles N.W. of Minneapolis off Interstate 94 (see location), Lake Osakis offers 6389 acres of unexcelled variety fishing. The 11 mile long lake has the large open water area necessary to produce fish of trophy proportions, yet the narrow end, where Lakeshore Resort is located, remains sheltered from the wind.
The 53 miles of sandy shoreline on Lake Osakis and its many bays, points, sunken islands and bars, harbors largemouth and smallmouth bass, abundant northern pike, a healthy stock of walleyes, and some of the largest sunfish and crappies in our state. We have all the fish and plenty of them! That’s why Lake Osakis rates in the Top Ten Fishing Lakes of Minnesota.
Come and see for yourself the fish under our docks on our underwater camera in the lodge.
Dockage for one boat is free. Launch your boat free from our cement ramp.
Boat lifts are rarely needed (docks are protected from 3 directions of wind).
All docks have electrical outlets for charging your batteries.
Fishing licenses and a complete selection of bait is available.
